A few exceptions worth knowing
- Quebec — Allocation famille is separate. Retraite Québec pays it quarterly in January, April, July, and October. It does not arrive with your CCB.
- Alberta — ACFB is quarterly. Paid in August, November, February, and May, separate from your monthly CCB.
- Saskatchewan — SLITC rides with the federal quarterly credit (CGEB), not with CCB.
- Manitoba — MCB requires a separate application and is paid by the province on its own schedule, not by CRA with CCB.
- Nunavut — does not auto-issue via birth registration. Form RC66 is required to start receiving CCB.

CGEB quarterly payment dates
The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (CGEB) is paid separately from the monthly CCB. It lands quarterly, on or near the 5th of July, October, January, and April — the same cadence the old GST/HST credit used before CGEB replaced it in July 2026.

- What day does CCB come out?
- The 20th of the month. CRA pays the CCB monthly, on the 20th, by direct deposit or cheque. When the 20th is a weekend or holiday, the deposit shifts to the last business day before it.
- When is the CGEB quarterly grocery benefit paid?
- The Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit is paid quarterly, on or near the 5th of July, October, January, and April. It is separate from the monthly CCB and replaced the GST/HST credit in July 2026.
- Why didn't I get my CCB this month?
- The most common reasons are an unfiled prior-year tax return (CCB pauses until both parents file), a change in marital status or custody, or AFNI rising above the phase-out ceiling. Check your CRA My Account for a recalculation notice.
